Wife's Letter To a Husband Who Chose Porn Over Her

Wife's Letter To a Husband Who Chose Porn Over Her

What this woman writes here about how her husband preferred pornography to her is not extraordinary. In fact her letter is one that so many women, tragically, could write. I myself could write it, as could the majority of PoSARC's readers.

What's noteworthy, however, is that it ran last week in the world's second most popular English-language online newspaper. The Guardian has more readers than even The New York Times does!

As more and more women tell their stories of being damaged and passed over for pornography in their committed partnerships, a porn-loving world will have to consider the true consequences of what is so often erroneously called "a harmless entertainment".

Once seen strictly as the bane of organized religion and uptight folks, pornography and its' ugly underbelly will start to become apparent as more articles like this are published in secular, mainstream magazines and newspapers.

And I can only dream that perhaps the long-overdue floodgates will open and many more women will begin speaking publicly about what pornography has cost them in their interpersonal relationships. Every time I see a letter like this one, I smile, knowing that so many more women will be emboldened to share their stories as well.
We're also seeing more accounts of women exited from the sexploitation industrial complex who tell horrid tales of what it's really like 'on the inside'.

It's high time we unmasked the interloper in our midst and started to take stock of the true costs of having allowed pornography to grab such complete hold of us collectively. It's high time we courageously speak out about how we each have been affected….perhaps sharing this letter with friends, relatives and colleagues can make it just a little bit easier.

Bravo to The Guardian for running this article and may many more follow.
